Western Africa Regional Health Network (WARHN)

In October 2008, the PPD ARO carried out an advocacy mission to West Africa. Ghana has agreed to be the focal point of the West African Reproductive Health Advocacy Network (WARHN) crafted around  the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).  The PPD ARO will support a meeting to develop a Strategic Plan for WARHN for 2009-2013, which had been scheduled for 24-27 June 2009, in Accra, Ghana. Seventeen countries from the ECOWAS region, development partners, and representatives from Uganda, Kenya, South Africa will attend this meeting. After the strategic plan is developed, network members of WARHN will work together to develop country-specific action plans to increase in-country activities as well as improve cross-country collaboration in the region in the context of South-South cooperation.
