During 2007-2008, the National Family And Population has undertaken various activities in the area? South-South Cooperation in accordance with the agreements of cooperation and partnership signed both bilaterally and multilaterally.

  • Rabat, Morocco, 11 - 17 March 2007: First launch meeting of the Arab Network of South-South cooperation in the fight against maternal and neonatal mortality, organized by the United Nations Fund for Population Activities and the Ministry of Health of Morocco 
  • Taicang, China, 8 - 14 May 2007: Workshop of South-South cooperation for capacity-building training centers and research institutions in member countries, organized by the National Family Planning and Population of China and the Secretariat of PPD 
  • Jakarta, Indonesia - 1 - 7 July 2007: Study Visits and observation ONFP leaders in Jakarta at the invitation of the Planning and Population in Indonesia (BKKBN) as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of cooperation agreement between ONFP BKKBN and signed in November 2005. 
  • Tunis, 4 September 2007: National Day on "South-South Cooperation in Reproductive Health: What Partnership for the Future", organized by the National Family and Population and the Secretariat of PPD 
  • Rabat, Morocco - 19 -23 November 2007: XIIth Meeting of the Board of PPD: the South-South and International Forum on "Universal access to reproductive health to achieve the ICPD goals and MDGs, organized by the Secretariat PPD and the Ministry of Health of Morocco 
  • Tunis, 3 - 6 December 2007: 5th Regional Conference of the Global Fund to fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the beneficiary countries of the Middle East and North Africa, organized by the MENA Global Fund and the National Office for Family and Population and the WHO office in Tunis. with the Hewlett Foundation. 
  • Escheikh Sharm, Egypt, 17 - 20 December 2007: 10th Meeting of Presidents of national population in Arab countries, organized by the League of Arab States 
  • Dhaka, Bangladesh - 15 -24 February 2008: International training course on strengthening maternal and child health in southern countries, organized by Institute of Mother and Child Health in Bangladesh in collaboration with the Secretariat of PPD 
  • Rabat, Morocco - 21 - 22 February 2008: Strategic workshop on the establishment of a Maghreb observatory for the fight against gender-based violence, organized by the National Family and Population in collaboration with UNIFEM and the Spanish International Cooperation Agency pour le Développement (AECID). 
  • Dhaka, Bangladesh - 28 - 30 July 2008: Meeting of Directors of the Centers for Training and Research of the member countries, organized by the PPD Secretariat in collaboration with the Hewlett Foundation.

Action Plan 2008-2009

  • The South-South ONFP will focus on the organization of training in RH, Population and Development at senior levels of the countries of Francophone Africa and the Arab region.
  • The organization of a workshop to strengthen the competencies of consultants from the South. 
  • The implementation of technical assistance projects including Mauritania, Niger, Mali, Djibouti and Chad.
